A World Class Organizational Development Methodology
(. . . to get to the future, first!)

For over ten years, Knightsbridge has been working with organizations on needs related to dramatically improving performance. Not surprisingly, we have found that no "quick-fix" magic formula will create positive change. Within a framework of systems thinking, however, there are initiatives that can be undertaken that will lead to continued improvement in the effectiveness and efficiency of the enterprise. From our experience we have developed an advanced methodology for identifying key success factors that focus resources on meeting the needs of customers, employees, and owners.

Vision-Based Leadership (V-BL) is a comprehensive methodology developed by Knightsbridge to meet the performance improvement needs in virtually all areas of an organization. It uses a logical systems approach to take full advantage of current PC technology and proven organizational development processes. V-BL contributes to improved financial performance by providing the management "tools" needed to respond to the constant demand for positive change in today's demanding global marketplace. Using V-BL an organization can be depicted as consisting of three basic inter-dependent levels. Each level is defined with its own vital responsibilities and functions as follows:

Level I
consisting of the Leadership (the CEO, other key executives, and board members) has the responsibility of embracing a defined culture and developing the vision, mission, goals and strategy that can be internalized by all customers and employees.

Level II
consisting of Managers, Supervisors and Department Heads, is responsible for cascading the vision and shared values throughout the organization. They oversee the operational and tactical implementation of strategies in order to achieve the overall goals to fulfill the mission.

Level III
consisting of work teams and individual employees, needs to be aligned with the company's vision, culture and defined objectives. Individuals and teams must be committed to defined tasks and responsibilities that serve customer needs.

Through the use of V-BL, all resources are focused on the key issues that are most highly valued by customers, employees, and other stakeholders. The V-BL methodology has been proven to be extremely effective for organizational leaders. This is because the approach is basic and easily understood by all employees; yet produces highly desirable outcomes for all stakeholders. The V-BL methodology is the vehicle by which leadership can reverse the management style from a re-active to a pro-active approach. A "hope" and "cope" strategic approach can be changed to a more opportunistic strategy that is prepared to take full advantages of the organization's core competencies to become a market leader. Whoever gets to the future first, with the most, is usually the winner!
